I’m Daniel Cornelison: Code Whisperer, Noise Maker, and Huntsville’s Own Tech Adventurer
From tinkering with family computers at 12 to shaping the contours of UX design and software development, my journey has been anything but ordinary. I’m Daniel Cornelison, widely recognized in the digital realm as Klastic, a name that has become synonymous with innovation, creativity, and an unyielding passion for technology.
My foray into the world of technology began early. At 13, I started building websites, a pursuit that quickly became more than just a hobby. By 16, my curiosity led me to explore the realms of gaming and music production. Hacking my Xbox to mod Halo 2 (yes, that led to a ban from matchmaking!) and making music on my computer, initially with Fruity Loops, then Sonar X1, and now with Ableton, marked the early days of a lifelong passion.
Serving in the army as a 25b, attached to the 20th Special Forces Group, and deploying to Iraq in 2011, which gave me a unique perspective on discipline, teamwork, and resilience. These experiences have profoundly influenced my approach to both life and work.
Post-military, I channeled my skills and interests into more creative endeavors. In 2013, I founded Industrial Parasite, a netlabel that merges my love for Electronic and Gaming music. This venture not only reflects my affinity for audio innovation but also marks my debut as an entrepreneur in the digital music scene. I’ve also enjoyed DJing at various events, including Hamacon, an anime convention in Huntsville, AL.
In the realm of software development, I lead Lostkode, a boutique firm where we specialize in crafting bespoke digital solutions. My focus on cross-platform applications and UX Design is driven by a desire to create interfaces that are not just functional but also aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly.
Gaming has always been a cornerstone of my life. From being an avid gamer as a kid to hosting a weekly DnD stream on Twitch for the past five years, which I also upload to YouTube, gaming continues to be a significant part of my world. My favorite character? Vivi from Final Fantasy.
Anime is another passion of mine, providing both entertainment and creative inspiration. And who would’ve thought that breaking my arm at 30 would be part of my story? It certainly wasn’t expected, but it’s just another chapter in a life full of unexpected turns.
At 33, looking back at the kid who once disassembled and successfully reassembled a family computer, much to my mom’s initial dismay, I realize how each of these experiences has contributed to who I am today. Join me on this fascinating journey, where each day is an opportunity to blend code, creativity, and a touch of the unexpected.
